Frequently asked questions

What type of people do you look for?

We look for all types both male and female from kids to adults who have the look for modeling or the personality for TV commercials. There are no height requirements unless you are looking to do high fashion or runway modeling.

Everyone tells me I look like a model! What should I do?

If people keep saying you should be a model then maybe it's time you look into it ! Have a professional take a look and see if you have what it takes. Send in your application for evaluation or call and make an appointment for an interview .

I see people in commercials and video's and I say to myself " I can do that "! What are my chances of making it ?

People get different results. After all this is an image business and we all have our own unique look and personality. The most successful people are usually those who have determination and looks. You should try for as many auditions and opportunities as you can. With most types of live or on camera roles your personality is the key. Naturally, in modeling it will depend on how well you work the camera and how you photograph.

What kind of jobs and opportunities are there?

There are many opportunities for modeling including advertisements for stores, products, and clothing companies, magazine and catalog shoots, video's, TV commercials and film work. There is also live modeling including runway and fashion shows, promotions, demonstrations, trade shows and hair and beauty shows.

Will I have to take modeling classes or will I have to get an expensive portfolio?

No . We are not a school and there are no portfolios required. You will need to go through a professional photo session to get modeling pictures or head shots. This is something that everyone goes through when they are starting out. The photos are needed to show to potential clients on interviews and auditions . Avoid any additional expences like courses, classes, conventions or other types of photo services that seem out of the ordinary.

I went to an agency and they wanted a lot of money for pictures. Is this normal?

If an agency is interested in you they will need modeling pictures or head shots. You will also need to have them for your auditions and "go sees", however, be aware that some places have very high prices for a basic photo shoot. You should check out a few companies to compare price and the quality of their work. Also note that there is a difference between modeling pictures and a commercial head shot for acting. Don't use an agency who only does one type of picture for everyone. Also, if they are asking for lot of money for things like classes or conventions and are pressuring you to "sign up right now" then keep looking.

How do I know which agency is right for me?

This depends on what type of work you are looking for and what area of modeling you fit into. If you are looking to model for magazines, catalogs and advertisements look for a agency that works mainly with models. If you are more the character type and want to get into acting for films, videos and commercials than look for a talent or casting agent. If you are not sure what type you are then go on a few interviews or consultations to get an opinion from an agent or talent manager. Look for someone with many years of experience and has a good reputation in the industry.

What if I am already with another agency or model manager?

You should still try out with other model searches. Most models do not have exclusive modeling contracts and you usually can work with other companies. Check with your agent or manager first to be sure. If you have modeling pictures or head shots then go to the application page and send it in with your photos.

If I send in pictures will you put them on your web site?

We will not use any photos you send us with out the proper authorization. If we are interested in working with you an interview or "test shoot" will be arraigned and we'll go over all the proper procedures before any steps are taken.

What if I live out of state, can you still use me?

Currently the opportunities available are mostly in the New York area. [ For outside New York area click here ] You would have to be in this area for us to work with you. If you are willing to travel or are here visiting for an extended period of time then you are welcome to apply.
